Dr. Malika Stewart-Bey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. Dr. Malika’s education consists of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy degree.
She utilizes a strength-based approach which highlights the unique qualities and capabilities of the individuals and families that she works with. As a client-centered therapist, Dr. Malika pulls from solution-focused brief therapy techniques, in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy interventions. Focusing on what you want as opposed to what you do not want is a big part of Dr. Malika’s aim as a therapist, in addition to identifying and challenging negative thought patterns.
Dr. Malika offers a safe space of unconditional positive regard for you to totally be yourself, as you explore your thoughts and feelings. Dr. Malika has worked in the areas of child development, parenting, addiction treatment, couples therapy, premarital counseling, non-monogamous/Polyamory/LGBTQIA, foster-care/transitional aged youth issues, homelessness, issues pertaining to systemic racism, as well as joined alongside clients overcoming anxious and depressive symptoms.
